Week 11 of the Withdrawal Biology series.

It reflects the staged calming and recalibration of the stress system.

As inhibitory regulation stabilizes, improvement typically unfolds in recognizable layers:

  • Autonomic stabilization—reduced heart rate variability swings, fewer stress surges

  • Sleep architecture normalization—deeper, more restorative sleep

  • Sensory tolerance—improved tolerance to light, sound, screens, and stimulation

  • Cognitive clarity—improved concentration and reduced internal pressure

  • Emotional steadiness—fewer abrupt mood shifts and stress reactions

  • Physical endurance—gradual return of stamina and resilience

Function often improves before all symptoms disappear.

Residual reactivity does not indicate failure or regression. It commonly reflects ongoing nervous-system recalibration as thresholds normalize.

Recovery is nonlinear. Capacity returns in stages.
