Withdrawal Behaves Like a Systems Disorder — Because It Is One

Benzodiazepine withdrawal looks chaotic because multiple stress-responsive systems activate at once.

When GABA restraint drops, the stress super-system mobilizes:

• CRH/adrenergic alarm pathways

 • Autonomic balance (HR/BP rhythm)

 • Excitatory–neuroinflammatory circuits (sensory + microglial activation)

 • Mast-cell reactivity

 • Motor/cerebellar coordination loops

These form the Five Axes observed in our clinical dataset.

They are not random — they appear as patterned expressions of stress-system dysregulation.
